The Central Bank of India (RBI) has drawn up new guidelines for bank Men’s Locker Safes for 2025. The New Locker Guidelines 2025 are related to the bankers’ auto responsibility, advance security standards, and a well-negotiated contract to cover an unprecedented number of locker holders from any possible theft, damage, or dispute.
Mandatory Revised Locker Agreement
Every old and new holder of a bank locker must sign a supplimentary or fresh standardized agreement by December 31, 2025. The agreement centers upon the rights, obligations, terms of rent, and liability clauses and is easy to respect because banks either give it their stamp on the paper or else along with all the things mentioned before the one opts to e-stamp it.
Improved Security Requirements
Banks would have to put up the most more recent CCTV surveillance networks to monitor recording up to a full 180 days while biometric and OTP devices and recurrent audits are imposed. These measures impede unauthorized entry and help keep track of evidence in case misidentifying entry issues.
Bank Liability and Compensation
Compensation is capped at 100 times the annual locker rent for losses caused by acts such as fire, theft, burglary, or employee fraud as a result of bank negligence. This transfer of responsibility from customers to banks provides increased financial protection–much beyond what was available under limited liability.
Nomination and Succession Process
Nominees or legal heirs enjoy faster possession rights, with more so only after 15 days from the date of submission of valid papers. Inventories are marked with photographs while issuing lockers so that it can ensure transparency.
